About Me

I studied ceramics at Camberwell School of Art under Colin Pearson, Janice Tchalenko and Ian Godfrey. My first studio was at the Barbican Arts Group in London, where I made thrown porcelain pots, some glazed and others burnished and sawdust fired. Inspired by travel in Peru and India, in 1981 I changed direction and started making large hand-built garden ornaments and planters. This gradually led me to looking at sculpture. I am now principally making sculpture, both portraits from life and small figures and busts of historical characters.
